Natural Mama Vegan Leather Diaper Bag

Created by a cloth-diapering mom of 8, this large and luxurious yet minimalistic diaper bag not only has the perfect place for everything you need on the go, it is stunning as well! This vegan-leather diaper bag is designed to help keep you organized on the go. The convertible straps allow you to go from backpack to should strap seamlessly. It also includes: one large insulated cooler/wet bag, one insulated bottle cooler, a vegan leather changing pad, and stroller straps. 

The creator's story behind the bag: 

"Does anyone remember the diaper bags of the early 2000s?? Mine was pink with flowers and looked similar to the ones my kids play house with now. 🫣🤣

After I finally gave up on all of the options out there I switched to a purse. I crammed. I left stuff at home. 😅 And rarely did I actually retrieve something helpful from the black hole I carried around.

Over the past few years some cuter diaper bag options became available, but all were backpack only-style. I didn’t want to HAVE to carry diaper bag on my back. There are times when the backpack feature is great, but other times when it is impractical (or unsafe... hello big city travel).

Finally I decided to design my own! I have been using it for awhile now and I'm so excited to get to share it with the world. My new convertible, large, super organized, cloth diaper friendly bag is AMAZING. I’m in love and I know that you are going to love it too!"

Note on why we chose this material for our bag:  Choosing the perfect material was a tough call. While animal leather is naturally-sourced, it has to be treated with toxic chemicals in order for it to live up to daily use. To make animal leather durable enough for daily use, it undergoes a tanning process that often involves harsh chemicals like chromium, formaldehyde, and other toxic substances. These chemicals are used to prevent the leather from decomposing and to give it flexibility and longevity. The residues of these chemicals can be harmful, especially when you're carrying items like baby bottles, diapers, and wipes in close contact. Prolonged exposure to these chemicals, even at low levels, has been linked to skin irritation and other health risks.

Animal leather is also prone to staining and requires frequent conditioning to maintain its appearance (no busy mom has time for this!). Given that diaper bags are used in messy, high-traffic situations, spills, and leaks are inevitable. Leather can absorb liquids and odors, which makes it harder to clean and maintain. 

The benefits to vegan leather are many!

Vegan leather is made from synthetic materials like polyurethane (PU) which do not require the same toxic tanning process as animal leather. This makes it a safer option for items that will be around your baby and personal items. 

Our vegan leather bags are produced using environmentally conscious methods, including less water usage and fewer chemical pollutants. This means choosing vegan leather helps reduce your environmental footprint.

Vegan leather is designed to be highly durable. It is resistant to water, stains, and scratching, which is perfect for the spills and messes that are common with diaper bags. The only maintenance needed is an occasional wipe down with a damp cloth!
